Hi,
I am a new member. I have been collecting Bitty Baby and Angelina stuff for my 3 year old girl (she's my cover for collecting AG stuff). Unfortunately, I play with Bitty Baby and Angelina more than she does. She is more into arts and crafts and running around the house playing chase. I went nuts buying Bitty Baby stuff hoping that my daughter would become interested in her with all the cute clothes and accessories, but it only lasted for a little bit.
So I decided to start collecting for myself and acknowledge to the world that I am an AG lover (addict). It just makes me feel good to look at the AG website, catalogs, and going to the AG Place in Chicago. I live in Houston but once a year, we go to Milwaukee to visit my husband's relatives and I just have to go to the AG Outlet store and AGPC. I have my husband take care of my daughter while I go through every item on display at the Chicago store. I could live in there. And of course, everytime I go there, I have to eat at the AG cafe. At first I wondered if there was something seriously wrong with me in regards to my hobby. My husband and my parents think I am nuts and that I am just wasting money. I am a 35 year old woman that loves to collect toys, mostly dolls. But now that I read your posts, I feel much better about my love (addiction) for AG stuff. There are others like me out there.
So now, I decided to start collecting AGOT. I know that my daughter is way too young for that doll so I will keep her for myself and let her play with her only under very close supervision. My daughter doesn't like role playing with dolls much but she does love doing their hair and lately she has expressed a desire to cut their hair too. So I need to be very careful. I just ordered an AGOT with long dark brown hair that could become her next victim.
Since I am getting a doll, I really need to get her a bed to sleep on. I am thinking about buying the very expensive 3-in-1 bed. Since it's such a big purchase, I would like some advice regarding this item. Do any of you have this bed? Do you like it? Does it take a lot of space? Is it a waste of money? How big is the attached dresser? Is it too small to store clothes, shoes and accessories?
Thanks. (Sorry for the long e-mail. I just had a lot to say)

Welcome to the Board! Like everyone else, we don't have the bed, but I am sure someone can answer your question for you
As far as your daughter, give her some time and she might still like Bitty Baby. Because I felt guilt about the time I was spending with a part-time job, I purchased a lot of Barbie stuff for my then three year old daughter. Yes, it was way too young to start her on it. She would play for a brief time with them, but I think it was more that she wanted to play with them because I seemed excited for her to have them. My daughter is now seven, soon to be eight and she plays with her Barbies now. Maybe your daughter just needs a little bit of time and then she will adore them as much as you. You shouldn't ever feel bad about collecting dolls. My daughter and I collect dolls together and we also use AG's for school. I still have gotten a few strange looks and a few snarky comments at my daughter's ballet when I am carrying my daughter's doll for her, but I just tell them we collect dolls and that seems to do the trick.

Welcome! Don't worry, there are many many of us over the "target" age who play with AGs! Just yesterday I saw a woman carrying around a very nice baby doll at a craft fair like a real baby! She was shopping for clothes and stuff for it! You're normal! It's everyone else who is not

I am over their "Target" age too....but hey, WHO CARES?!?!?!?
I was once the age they did market to and I was once the age they dug in the dirt to have when this company formed so many years ago.
I do get the Snarky comments but when I say,"Hey, I have an original!" People quickly shut their yaps and say, "I used to too!" or "That is sooooo cool!"
I am not ashamed in any way. I carried them in Disneyland and at Halloween this year. I have no shame what so ever......LOL. Enjoy your dolls and their beds. Love them and keep them forever. Then share that gift with another girl. It keeps the circle growing and let's them not be ashamed of them when they are older.

Enjoy your dolls!
I have the 3-in-1 bed and love it! There is a bunch of room in it. I don;t know how many outfits I fit in it tho. I have the 3-in-1 bed and the blue armiore and all my AGoT clothes fit inside both.

Welcome to the board, Lynett! This is a great place of AG fans of all ages to hang out. You'll find all kinds of info here!
Don't worry about your 3 yr old not playing with Bitty Baby much. My daughter didn't care for baby dolls till she was about 5. Then she told me she wanted a "hard baby doll" for Christmas. She did NOT want anything soft. Funny, huh? So we bought her an all-plastic, hard baby doll and she loved it and mothered it for about 3 years. Then we moved onto the AG 18" dolls. My daughter is grown now. Those little girl years are so fleeting.
I have the 3-in-1 Bed and love it! Though it seems huge, the usefulness is really worth it every penny. I keep a LOT of doll clothing stored in it. I think of all the doll beds, the 3-in-1 Bed is the most useful for those with limited space. You wouldn't think so because of the size. But the bed can be placed against a wall and since the top of it is flat, you can stack pretty boxes of doll accessories on top. When you don't want to use the bed, it can be closed up. And the lights are awesome!
Tracy, that is so cool that you have the blue armoir. I wish I'd gotten that one now. I'm glad AG keeps making beds/storage units for the dolls. I wonder what their next storage unit will be when the 3-in-1 Bed ends.
